how our programs work
Step 1 - Get Pain Free
We do this every day with clients in our clinic, and we can do it in just a few short weeks with you too. But you won't find any isolated theraband work here - we break down the movements that are causing you pain, find the neurological cause of the problem and help you change the way you move to break the pain cycle. It's a faster way to stop pain, gets you back into training earlier and has a lower risk of re-injury when you return to your usual activity load.

Step 2 - Stay Pain Free
The only way to get off the injury merry-go-round and prevent re-injury is to incorporate 'stealthy rehab' into your program. That is, get back into full training BUT make sure you are doing a very specific combination of exercises that uses ongoing strengthening to effectively rehab your injury without you doing boring rehab exercises! Learn what works for your body, learn what you CAN do (not focusing on what you can't) and build your confidence and strength as you go. You will feel the difference with clever exercise progressions that leave your pain behind - for good.

FAQ
Is this the same as online personal training?
This is not 'online PT'. We are not coaching you, and we are not here to be your 'accountability partner'. We are here to give independent people pain relief through outstanding fitness, sports and S&C programs. If you want a Facebook group and MyFitnessPal assessments, we're not going to be a good fit for you.
i have ongoing joint pain - is this right for me?
Do not book with us if you have significant pain doing general daily activities - instead, you should book in for Remedial Massage in our clinic at Redcliffe, or a myotherapist, osteopath, physiotherapist or chiropractor that you trust in your local area. Sports Therapy is geared towards people who have pain during their activity of choice, may or may not have a diagnosis, and definitely want it gone.
I am about to have surgery/just had surgery. Can you help me?
We can work with pre and post surgical clients, but we recommend you send us a message first to assess if our Sports Therapy programs are right for you - e.g. we can do programs for returning to gym or sports activity after a knee reconstruction, but less likely to be able to help someone with significant movement restriction and reduced activity levels post-surgically.
I want to start a fitness program to help my ongoing pain. Can you help?
This service is great for people who are already doing some kind of fitness program or sport, and their pain relates to that activity. It is not so good for people who are not already active. We rely on you having good body awareness and a general love of movement.
what equipment do i need?
We tailor each program to what you have available at home/in the gym/at your facility, however the bare-bones basics you will need to get started for your first pain relief program are a light power band, a trigger ball and a foam roller.
I don't play a sport, can you still help me?
Sure can! You may not play a sport, but maybe you are a fitness junkie getting shoulder pain when you are in the gym. Maybe you love trekking in the mountains and get knee pain walking down hills. Maybe your hip gives you grief when you are paddling on the SUP, or your elbow is stopping your squash game, or your neck gets stiff after swimming. We can help if you get pain during your favourite activity - whatever that might be!
I'm a body builder with pain, can you help?
We know a lot of body builders experience joint pain related to overload, overuse, tendinopathies and hormonal changes. We absolutely can help, but our programs are based around functional movement and optimal joint function. Modifying your training can sometimes compromise strict bodybuilding timelines and goal setting.
